Search engines need answers. Provide them.

When the next SEO prediction arrives, don’t panic. The algorithms will keep changing. The basics of being the trustworthy choice will not.

If content is designed around visitor journeys, as we discussed yesterday, then SEO metrics can be useful in spotting which journeys are not getting visitors. We can stop focusing on “how do we rank for more keywords?” and spend more time on asking “where are we losing the people we’ve already reached?”

One reason to take this approach is because identifying answers is what the search engines (and now Ai tools) are trying so hard to do. They’re aiming to guess what will be most useful to the person asking them a question. But they cannot see inside our business.

If the website feels vague, they will struggle. They don’t even have the intuition that a customer might have. If we hide the product behind woolly marketing copy, they have less to work with. But if we show our product clearly and use real customer language, that isn’t just reassuring for customers. To a search engine or Ai system, it looks like strong content that deserves to be shown.

We do not need a technical SEO plan that uses its own language. We need a marketing plan that happens to understand how people search.
