Something’s not working in B2B marketing. Everyone’s optimised everything to death, and buyers still aren’t buying it. What’s the answer?
Do you feel that something’s not working in B2B marketing? Everyone’s optimised everything to death, and buyers still aren’t buying it. The problem may not be the delivery of the message, however – it’s that the message isn’t being believed in the first place.
I’m sure that buyers are more skeptical than ever. Surveys would suggest that’s the case. The pitches and vague promises all sound the same. Tweaking the ad spend won’t fix this.
The solution isn’t more clever messaging – it’s more credibility. That means shifting the focus from claims to proof. Case studies with real results, third-party validation, transparent pricing, trustworthy customer quotes – these are the things that should break through.
Trust isn’t just some vague “brand value” any more – it needs to be at the heart of our marketing. We need to stop telling stories buyers might not believe.
