Find the “About the source” page on Google and you’ll now see a link to “See previous versions on Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine”.
Many people are unaware of just how much information Google can reveal about a website. When you search for a company — whether it’s your own or a competitor’s — you’ll notice three dots next to the search result. Clicking on these dots opens a panel with detailed information about the website. But that’s just the beginning. If you select “More about this page,” you’ll be taken to an “About the source” page, which provides even more details. The newest and most exciting feature is the option to “See previous versions on Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine,” where you can explore the website’s history.
Of course, the Wayback Machine is nothing new, but links to it from Google are, and they remind us what an incredible resource this is. Have fun.
