This is what the search engines want nowadays

We need to attract ‘crawlers’ like Googlebot, to get them to come more often, and to spend more time hoovering up our data when they arrive.

Nobody gets into the search engine results without the search engine visiting them first. So we need to attract those ‘crawlers’ like Googlebot, to get them to come more often, and to spend more time hoovering up our data when they arrive. Nobody quite knows how to do that, but most experts agree on a couple of fairly unremarkable strategies. As these should also appeal to our prospects, they’re not going to be controversial.

Firstly, publishing new content frequently should prompt the search engines to visit more often! Don’t store up content; add it to the site at intervals so the site appears to be changing.

Secondly, the new content should revolve around relevant topics, not just keywords, making it ‘high quality’. This is what the search engines want nowadays, so providing it should be a no-brainer.
