Here’s a top tip, via marketing writer Seth Godin, who suggests that ‘Wordclouds’ can be very useful as a personal tool. He says: “Consider building a word cloud of your writing. It might be all the text on your website, or the last 50 emails you sent. At a glance, you’ll discover the essence of your tone, whether you have some stop words to be edited out (I use “just” too much) and what your audience is going to experience.” It’s a really good exercise. From looking at this I like a few things (the use of “will and “can” – how aspirational!) and can see a few others for which I’d like to investigate a possible case of over-use. In general though, the right words are appearing!
