Another reason to make videos!

I’ve been drawing attention to the topical subjects of how we might influence AI answers and why we should have a YouTube channel, but just to bring these together, I’ve learned that Google is transcribing millions of hours of YouTube videos to train its AI systems. You’ll probably be ahead of me here, but yes, that does mean that it will have the text transcript of our “How to calibrate a Blue Widget” video in its knowledge base, all ready for when someone types into Google/AI-Google: “How do I calibrate a Blue Widget?”

One of the reasons it’s doing this is that one of the biggest problems faced by search engines is the explosion in machine-generated content over the last year or so, much of it low quality. At the moment, the relative quality of the words spoken in YouTube videos is possibly at an all-time high.

Taking advantage of this is up to us.
