Back to the days of simple Google search results

There’s now so much baggage on a Google search results page that many people long for the days where we just got 10 website links. Well, it’s now possible to get back to that. Google has introduced a results page filter called ‘web’ which just lists the websites related to a search. It’s a lot cleaner and (for me at least) somewhat more in line with what I want from a search engine.

Try it on a search. (The ‘web’ filter is hidden away under ‘More’, although I found that once I’d used it once, the label got a more visible position).

I don’t suppose this is going to get massive use, but I would expect people who use it to see our business websites in the results more often. For those who’d like to switch to this as a default search style, there’s a good how-to article here.
