Time to close that social media account?

Many of us have set up social media accounts for our business that are no longer used, or indeed perhaps never were. It may be worth considering whether these should exist at all, as – quietly – they might be giving a poor impression of how active a business we are. In a recent development, Google has started to show things like follower count and views where it includes social media links in its results. You can see this in results homing in on one of my YouTube channels or one of my Twitter accounts. This is fine if we’ve nothing to be embarrassed about, but not so good if we have 6 followers or if a video has had 2 views. Don’t forget, there are circumstances where these results may appear on general searches for our company name.
