Although the clown who bought Twitter has been destroying one of the most significant services on the internet through his own arrogance and incompetence, it still carries on despite him. However, advertising (which forms 90% of Twitter’s revenues) is reported to be down nearly 60% in the US, which would have driven many services out of business by now.
To offset this disaster, it’s being reported that advertisers will soon be able to appear on Twitter home feeds through Google Ads Display campaigns. I doubt that any of our clients will want to touch this with a bargepole, given the offensive content that is actively being reintroduced to Twitter, so we hope that Google will make it easy to avoid appearing there. However, any readers who use Google’s Display Network Ads and manage this in-house might want to keep an eye on what’s happening.
