Learning SEO needn’t be hard

I’m often asked to recommend training courses, most commonly in SEO. I recently thought of updating myself on what’s out there, and almost the first thing I came across was a brand new survey, Best SEO Courses Online – Free & Paid Options on the Search Engine Journal site. It’s a very trustworthy site, so I have no problem in suggesting that all the courses mentioned there will be fine.

For the online video courses, it might be worth looking at the dates on them, just to check they weren’t recorded too long ago. Anything in the last 3–4 years should be sufficiently up to date at the elementary level. Don’t dismiss the quality of the free courses, as most will have been created by very reputable organisations. However, there are also instructor-led and certification-awarding courses costing many hundreds of pounds which may represent decent value.

The article also covers the SEO courses offered by general online learning platforms, including LinkedIn’s. With these, you may also get access to many other courses.

There are many benefits to taking a course in SEO, including:

  1. Improved website traffic: By learning how to optimize your website for search engines, you can increase the number of visitors to your site. This can lead to more sales or conversions for your business.
  2. Increased credibility: A well-optimized website is often seen as more credible and trustworthy by users. This can help you build a strong reputation and establish your brand as an industry leader.
  3. Better user experience: SEO can help you improve the usability and accessibility of your website, making it easier for users to find the information they need and navigate your site.
  4. Competitive advantage: By learning SEO best practices, you can give your website a competitive advantage over other websites in your industry.

Overall, taking a course in SEO can help you understand how to effectively optimize your website and attract more visitors, which can ultimately lead to increased success for your business or career.
