Keeping track of our website’s response speed is something we should all prioritise, especially as faster performance probably now counts more than ever in search engine ranking. To improve matters, we need to understand Core Web Vitals and we need to test any improvements we can make.
Another tool to have in our arsenal is DebugBear, which has been offering speed measurement for two or three years, and is now very smart. The service offers a comprehensive manually-triggered analysis of a site (try it – it’s free!) but also the ability to automatically test pages as often as needed, from different locations worldwide and on different device formats. DebugBear also says it uses accurate ‘packet-level throttling’ when testing, instead of a default simulation, which can give inaccurate results.
