The psychological button

“Request a quote” is one of the key calls-to-action for many businesses. Yet so many miss the opportunity on their websites to make it easy.

The key, according to this article, is to have a “Request a quote” button which stands out on the page and is constantly there in the header navigation on a sticky menu bar. You may think that this is unnecessary, because prospects can easily find their way to the enquiry form if they want to, but the reason is partially psychological. By constantly leaving the “Request a quote” message in the website visitor’s peripheral vision, it drives home that this is the logical next step to take.

Of course we also need to ensure that nobody drops out at the final stage, by ensuring the enquiry form is as simple and clear as possible, and works on every device and screen size. I hope by now that we’ve all got that bit right though!
