This neat chart from Hubspot highlights a dozen things that we should all try to get on to the home page of our website. The home page is the landing page for the majority of our visitors to most sites, and it needs to work …instantly. It should be straightforward to assess what we have against the checklist and see if there are some obvious improvements.
So, what are the recommended elements? They’re all pretty straightforward: a headline and a sub heading; a supporting image that actually contributes to the story; the site’s benefits to the visitor; proof; an offer; resources; and of course navigation (but not hidden away). These things really do make a difference.
