Resolve to expand your marketing vocabulary

I was looking around for some headline-writing inspiration the other day and ended up diving into a rabbit-hole of articles about words that elicit a response from the reader. It reminded me that people have done a lot of work on this, and it’s all out there for us to use.

There’s a good list in 201 Trigger Words That Will Make Your Headlines More Engaging on the Coschedule blog, which at first glance looks far too generalist for our more conservative markets. But inspect it carefully and I’m sure every one of us could pull out a dozen or so words which would be suitable and which we don’t use at the moment.

If you think your marketing vocabulary is getting a bit stale, resolve to expand it a little.
