Sadly, there’s no simple answer to this. It’s something that’s been on my mind a lot recently, after I set up a new blog on a domain which had been sitting around as single page for years. Unfortunately, despite doing everything ‘right’, and quickly getting the whole blog indexed (according to Google Search Console), after six weeks the majority of pages still aren’t appearing in the actual results. It’s infuriating.
We might expect a completely new domain to take even longer to appear, but that’s not always the case. And at the other extreme, when it comes to the length of time for odd new pages from an existing site to get into the results …well, that’s unpredictable too. It can be a few hours, or it can also take weeks.
I think all we can do is to throw the kitchen sink at things and hope. Steps to take include submitting the site through Search Console, ensuring internal links are comprehensive, submitting a sitemap, using robots.txt, sharing the site on the web and in social media, adding it to directories and regularly checking for crawl errors.
