Have you got the LinkedIn Insight Tag on your website? Although none of us want to add yet more code without good reason, this is something that could prove very worthwhile. Essentially it’s tracking code designed by LinkedIn so that we can get a better insight into the visitors it’s sent us. The hope is that it’ll encourage us to run retargeting advertising on LinkedIn (something which is always worth investigating).
Now, although we can track any source of traffic and what it does using visitor analytics, the advantages begin when you reverse back into LinkedIn and look at the data they have there. As LinkedIn describes it: “The Insight Tag unlocks powerful demographic insights about your website visitors – such as their job titles, companies, industries, and more. Best part: it’s free.” Worth a look.
