It may be some time before the current crisis stops dominating the news agenda, but it will happen, and at that time, journalists will be looking for recovery stories. If you’re responsible for your organisation’s publicity, it may be worth preparing for that moment. News could include how your business went the extra mile for customers, or for the community, how staff helped keep the business going, or what they did while ‘furloughed’. It could be a chance to thank customers who stuck with you.
I doubt this opportunity will come for a while yet, sadly, but in the meantime, there’s an opportunity to make notes and to prepare. Also, keep those personal connections with news organisations going!
