Long-time readers will be familiar with the tools out there which analyse your website for best practices, including SEO. These include the ‘Lighthouse’ project from Google itself. Now the search engine giant has created an easier-to-use system, at web.dev, which I’m sure you’ll all want to try out.
Use it to highlight possible areas of improvement, but don’t sweat over the small stuff. The report will give you feedback on website performance (e.g speed), best practices, SEO and accessibility, but the fixes may not be easy or quick. They’re also likely to be highly technical, so don’t expect a list of things you can do yourself: more likely they’ll be issues to raise with your web developer or hosting company. But give it a go; if nothing else, by following the explanatory links, you might learn something interesting.
