If you’re a frequent user of Google Maps, you’ll probably have noticed some of the many ways in which it goes beyond the remit of being an online atlas. It never ceases to surprise users, from being downloadable for when you’ve got no internet data (yet still knowing where you are!) to reading your appointments from GMail and adding them to maps. Although we might associate many of the commercial features with more consumer-oriented businesses, such as restaurants, I think it’s more important than ever to ensure your company is properly listed and described in Google Maps and the linked Google My Business. For example, there’s a new feature where anyone can ‘follow’ a business and a new “For You” tab will give you news and offers. In addition, as relevant new businesses open, users will get notifications about those too. What does your business look like on Google Maps?
