I’ve been reading some interesting Twitter conversations from SEO professionals recently (just so you don’t have to) and it’s interesting to see what works …and what people actually do. Approved techniques to get good article ranking and to increase the performance of a website include writing long-form articles, using professional writers, publishing frequently, and generating original research.
But for some of these strategies, only half as many people who agree that they work, actually do them. That’s probably not because they secretly don’t believe in them; it’s probably because they’re working for people who won’t provide the necessary resources. So if you use an SEO-focused PR agency who recommend commissioning work which seems increasingly expensive, they’re not just trying to get more work – they have your best interests at heart.
