Are you missing out on the intent of searchers?

If you sell a product, of course you want to rank highly in Google for a simple search for that product. But by focusing on what the product is called, are you making your targeting a bit broad and missing out on the intent of searchers? Do some basic keyword research, like we do when we set up AdWords campaigns, and you’ll find ideas which might target these people better. There’s a good tool inside AdWords, or you could try Answer The Public or Ubersuggest, for example.

Now we start to find out what people really want to know. Once you understand this, you can start to target their real needs. As it happens, pages which answer known queries are what Google likes best of all. Why wouldn’t it?
