Good news, if you run a Twitter account for your business. The chances are you probably add an image to the tweet, but as from last week, the URL of that link no longer takes up a big chunk of the 140 characters you’re allowed in the message. If you’re a regular Twitter user, you’ll know that an extra 22 characters can be a real godsend.
Other developments at Twitter include the facility to apply to have a “verified” blue tick against your account, which does give it an air of gravitas. The application form is here. If anyone has any luck with this, do let me know.
Now all we need is for a link in a tweet to our own website not to count against the character limit, and everyone will be a happy user.
