Is computer voice command of interest to us in B2B marketing? This will be the year which Windows’ Cortana and Apple’s Siri become established on the desktop, and I believe people will start to use voice input in web search, for example. But does this mean searches will be any different? Almost certainly. It’s going to mean a lot more questions, for example. For example, anyone looking for a blue widget supplier and using Google in keyboard mode would probably just type in ‘blue widgets’. Anyone making a voice search would probably ask ‘who makes blue widgets?’ The results there are quite different. The user may even be taken to a different search engine. Try asking your own phone ‘where can I buy (something)’ or ‘who makes (something)’ and start looking for interesting opportunities to build pages which answer those questions in your sector.
