Yesterday I described an easy technique for creating original content, something which is becoming a minimum requirement for high ranking in the search engines. This is to sit down with someone who knows about the subject, and to transcribe an article from what they have to say about it.
But if the piece you’re writing is a product description, for example, there’s probably a list of bullet points which accompany any existing writeups. The person you’re talking to will want to refer to this, to ensure that all the points have been covered, and suddenly you’re regurgitating something already written, word-for-word.
To avoid this, let them read through the bullet points one by one, but for each one, ask: “What does that mean? What’s the benefit?” The answers will provide alternative, and almost certainly much better, bullet points.
