Those who know a lot about these things seem to think that Google will be adding company logos to its search results soon, and if that’s the case, you’ll want to be there from the outset. Author photos already feature in the results, and I’m fairly certain that results like the one below have given my own results an increase in clickthrough rate.
Google has provided something called the Structured Data Testing Tool in Webmaster Tools which shows how your company results might appear with a logo next to them. The logo is taken from your Google+ account. Here’s what you’ll see if you’ve got everything set up properly:
So, what are the steps to get to this stage? Firstly, create a company Google+ account if you haven’t already done so. Then link this page to your website either through Webmaster Tools or by adding a line of code in the “head” section. Instructions are here.
