One thing which often stops people in their tracks in meetings is when I look something up on Google and use some of the search engine’s “operators”. I often get “excuse me, how did you do that?” when I call up a list of pages just on one site, or a list of PDFs, or whatever. Using the full extent of Google’s search options is something which one group of people (like me) take for granted and don’t even think about, while another group think is some sort of insider secret. It’s not. I’ve touched on several of these in previous articles here, but there’s a nice list in 6 Search Operators IĀd Be Lost Without on the Outspoken Media blog. All six of these come in useful quite often …once you know them.
