In the future when all’s well…

Nearly November, and so the year moves on with news, this week, that America is coming out of recession but the UK still lags behind. Hopefully, soon, we’ll be hearing that we’ve a the light at the end of this horrid economic tunnel (let’s hope it won’t be a proverbial train!)
Anyway, ever the optimist and with a constant spring in my step I continue to battle on with marketing initiatives for my clients. And enjoying every minute!
It’s been an interesting week, amongst other things I’ve actually completed a small postal mailing/mail merge – something which I haven’t been asked to do for a very (very) long time. Normally emails are the vehicle of choice. Of course, the timing couldn’t have been worse, with the postal strike taking place. Anyway, it went out – and it will be interesting to see how successful it is. Fingers crossed for a positive result! (Anyone else still undertaking postal mailings?)
In addition, an item in an email newsletter this week, serves to remind that our emails aren’t always kept or deleted by the recipient – and that they can find a home in the public domain…
This is what I received (I’ve deleted the name of the radio station – just in case this is the figment of someone’s vivid imagination):
Someone working on XXXX’s Saturday show sent an email around to production staff this week saying: “Does anyone own an 8-12 year old boy, or has one at their disposal, who would be available to read a line of voice over tomorrow on the 2nd floor? The role will be that of a young competition winner, for the XXXX magazine show which will air this Saturday morning.”
Humm, and we all thought competition fixing was a thing of the past…..
This month hope you enjoy the contributions from Chris Rand , Sue Malleson, Andrew Long, and Andy Marken.
Plus my own two penny-worth – venue finding in Milton Keynes and exciting news from BMON and Utalkmarketing the date of the first analytics and optimisation workshop.
