This last week I've had yet another conversation about ineffective email campaigns. Although it's all pretty basic stuff, I thought I'd record my 'end' of the conversation here...
Hurrah! Marketing has a new Mecca! All we have to do is post a link to a voucher for our new widget and we will all be rolling in sales leads! The recession is over! All we need is a 140 character tweet!

Today someone emailed me an attached file. There was little to explain what the file was about in the email. Normally I wouldn’t bother to open something like that, but I’d made a cup of coffee so I sat back and opened it out of curiosity.
