If you want a really good, up-to-date list of first class tools, head straight for Best SEO Tools for 2017 on the Hobo Blog. This discusses no fewer than 37 apps and services for crawling your site, checking links, keyword research, link analysis, page visit analysis, rank tracking and even copywriting. You’ll need more time than is humanly available to test them all, but one or two may jump out as being potentially useful straight away. Don’t spend too long with them, although that’ll be tempting for data nerds like me. As the author writes: “Analysis paralysis is pretty common with any tool set, so watch out, and good luck.”
